Mike and Dom talk with State Representative Katrina Shankland about her press conference today.
Crute and Dom:
Let’s put the House panel hearing today in context on a very granular level. One of the Democratic House Members from Hawaii pointed out in his five minutes the fact confirmed by FBI Director Comey that of the 30,000 emails reviewed, only 110 were of a “heightened security” content, and of those, only three had the lowest level of classification as “Confidential”. Those according to our NSA/DOJ classification system need to have the parenthetical “C” in the header title of the email. They did not. In those 3 emails the “C” was in a paragraph lower in a long chain narrative not identified as “C” except in that paragraph’s location. That’s a ratio of 1 in 1000 emails to be concerned about. No person I know who could be capably managing our State Department for four years, would necessarily do any better than Hillary had done at securing things. Certainly, the State Department needs to create a manageable policy that protects documents, but this does not rise to the level of incompetence or criminal intent, as Director Comey stated in his testimony today.
