No one ever accused the WisDems.org of wisdom, and the lack of political ads on your show are probably due to the idea that it’s too early to start an advertising campaign for office. Wrong, wrong, wrong! People who listen to this show know certain advertisers’ names well: Jessie Pika-Holst, Brad Zog, Tom Milanti, Anton Cappella, etc.. (Since I know their names by sound only, please excuse misspellings.) Their names have been imprinted in my and other listeners’ brains. That’s a big plus for them (even though I doubt I’d ever use their services only because I’m old and retired and not in need of buying anything.)
Democratic candidates for office would be wise to take the advice to negotiate a long-term advertising campaign with you because, as everyone knows, voter turnout is key to Democratic Party success. Therefore, the Dems need to figure out that it’s NEVER TOO EARLY to start the drumbeat, particularly if the candidates attune or harmonize their messages with your Walker-Schimel-Vukmir (et al) bashing.
One word of caution.I think you should resist the temptation to play the power card with the candidates. The “I own the station, so don’t crticize me” is not a winner for you. If I were you I’d downplay that at every turn, but I’d also keep trying to get your message across.
