Your guest’s ideology is founded on the false assumption that ‘taxpayers’ enjoy privileged status within our system of government. They don’t. Our government exists to protect the interests of citizens, and nowhere in the State Constitution will you find mention of ‘taxpayers’ as some super special, protected class. The ‘taxpayers are special’ narrative does more to undermine the legitimacy of our democracy, than any propaganda piece by a foreign enemy ever could.
