The guys talk about what is going on at Lincoln Hills and are joined by State Senate Minority Leader Jennifer Shilling to dive deeper into the issue.
It was disheartening, again, to hear Jennifer Shilling’s tepid tone in (lack of) response to the entire range of devastating effects republican enforcement of their sociopathic agenda has had on our state and its citizens. If democrats were half as effective w/the truth that is theirs to put forward as republicans are with their lies and disinformation, we would never have ended up in this situation to begin with. This is the major problem here; despite having virtually all of the facts supporting them, they do little appropriately aggressive speaking out, in no small part due to lack of party leadership; where is DPW on this? Nowhere, as usual. And Jon Erpenbach is only once again typically opportunistically jumping on an issue once it’s gaining publicity, which is his real MO. Union officials approached him multiple times for over a YEAR about the situation at Columbia. His response? He told union reps to have the individual employees/members EMAIL him about their concerns! He wouldn’t even talk to union reps. His aide rolled her eyes when they entered his office. And this AFTER he lost the suit to MacIver, resulting in exposure of hundreds of public employees to right wing retaliation, particularly in the form of attempting to separate them from their jobs. He’s only jumping on this now for the PR opportunity. The 27th district can do much better.
